Endometriosis Action Month 2024

This March, the team here at ObGyn Matters are helping to raise awareness for Endometriosis-UK and their #EndometriosisActionMonth

Endometriosis impacts 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, yet so many are still unaware of the condition and its impact.

The leading theme this year is:

“Could it be endometriosis”

We are helping Endometriosis-UK to improve general public awareness and the understanding of the condition and the symptoms experiences.

The aim is to improve diagnosis times for the 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth.

We have a fantastic resource of information regarding endometriosis, written by our specialist consultant Mr Chris Barnick who has over 30 years of experience in diagnosing and treating endometriosis with both medical and surgical techniques. Mr Barnick currently manages and runs a specialised Endometriosis Centre accredited by the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE).

We also have plenty of information on endometriosis and it’s association with fertility and long term symptoms.

A recent report published by Endometriosis-UK shows that diagnosis times in the UK have significantly worsened since 2020, whilst 47% of patients are visiting their GP 10 or more times with symptoms prior to receiving a diagnosis. 20% reported seeing a gynaecologist 10 or more times before being diagnosed. Here at ObGyn Matters, we are ready to listen to all of your symptoms, we are ready to offer you an array of suitable treatment options, and we can be trusted to ensure that a diagnosis is made swiftly, and that you receive the highest level of surgical care should it be required.
